CRVC was established in 2003 by Doctors Shawn and Christine McCoole. Shawn is an Atchison native and graduated from Atchison High School in 1984. Christine grew up in Hutchinson, KS and graduated high school in 1984. Shawn and Christine met at K-State and graduated from the college of veterinary medicine in 1991. Christine worked at small animal practices in the Kansas City-Metro area while Shawn worked in mixed animal practices in Kansas and Missouri. One of their primary goals in the early years of practice was to learn high-quality medicine and surgery from the best mentors possible. Shawn returned to Atchison to practice in 1997 and they designed and built Cedar Ridge in 2003.

Our team is committed to educating our clients on how to keep their pet healthy. At Cedar Ridge we believe all pets need to be treated with respect, loving care, and minimal stress in each routine appointment, procedure, medical case or surgery. We strive on providing excellent client communication so pet owners are never in the dark about the status of their pet, aftercare, and recovery following veterinary treatment.
